Mary Magdalene

Usually associated with the Greek Μαγδαληνή (Magdalēnḗ, “woman from Magdala”), Mag-dale-ne is composed from mag, magi, which in various languages means "priest" or "priestess." Dalene or dalan means "valley," preserved from extinction in north of England by Norse infl. Akin to words for "bow" (v.), probably through the notion of a bend in the ground." Mag-dalene means therefore: a priestess adept from other lands or valleys: a white priestess.

Mary Magdalene was the priestess-spouse of Jesus of Nazareth, and is a great Gnostic initiate.

Mary Magdalene, like every other character in the scriptures, is also symbolic and has many meanings.

"Mary Magdalene, as well as Salambo, Matres, Ishtar, Astarte, Aphrodite and Venus all represent the priestess-wife with whom we must practice sexual magic in order to awaken the Fire (of the Holy Spirit; the Kundalini)." —Samael Aun Weor, The Perfect Matrimony

“A fornicator is an individual who has intensely accustomed his genital organs to copulate (with orgasm). Yet, if the same individual changes his custom of copulation to the custom of no copulation, then he transforms himself into a chaste person. We have as an example the astonishing case of Mary Magdalene, who was a famous prostitute. Mary Magdalene became the famous Saint Mary Magdalene, the repented prostitute. Mary Magdalene became the chaste disciple of Christ.” —Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of Beelzebub
