Hebrew עמרה. In the Bible, a city destroyed by divinity because of sexual impurity.
"And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and עמרה [Gomorrah] is great, and because their sin is very grievous... Then יהוה rained upon Sodom and upon עמרה [Gomorrah] brimstone and fire from יהוה out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground." —Genesis 18-19
The word עמרה [Gomorrah] is related to העמר HaOmer, a kabbalistic symbol related to the harvest of the sexual grain. Read Matzot and the Sephiroth of the HaOmer.
